We specialise in navigating the complex superannuation landscape for super funds, employers and a range of service providers. Some of our service offerings are featured below.

Member outcomes and strategic planning

Undertaking a review of a fund’s strategic planning and member outcomes framework to ensure compliance with APRA’s Prudential Standard 515 Strategic Planning and Member Outcomes. This includes performing an assessment of the fund’s ability to deliver expected outcomes to its members.

Product and service provider benchmarking

Performing a benchmarking exercise assessing the comparability of a fund’s product offering against competitors and the broader superannuation market. Benchmarking is performed across a range of product features including investments, fees, insurance, governance and member and employer services. Assistance can also be provided in undertaking a benchmarking review to compare the fund’s current service provider against others to assist with decision making and negotiations. This may lead to managing a full tender process to identify a suitable service provider.

Fund mergers

Conducting a market scan to identify potential merger partners and subsequent merger analysis. We are skilled in developing merger charters, guiding the board from pre-merger discussions, and memorandum of understanding through to undertaking detailed due diligence on potential prospects. We also offer project management services to optimise service providers and facilitate transitions to minimise risk within acceptable tolerances.

Product & advice

Providing advice in design, development and implementation of practical product solutions to assist in achieving fund-for-life objectives. This includes lifecycle analysis of product offerings, evaluation of product against competitors and best practice, identification of optimisation areas and developing underlying business cases to support initiatives. Assistance can also be provided in conducting strategic reviews in relation to the fund’s advice triage, service and pricing models.

Risk and Compliance

Provision of objective advice to trustees to assist in responding to legislative and regulatory change by identifying the implications of the change, and the necessary actions to comply with the changes. For example, a review of a fund’s insurance arrangements and design to comply with the requirements of the Federal Budget changes and Insurance in Superannuation Voluntary Code of Practice. Further, guidance can be provided to the trustee to develop and review their compliance obligations register, focusing on the requirements of relevant APRA Superannuation Prudential Standards and associated regulatory guidance.
